Hermez Network Twitter Account Update

By Polygon Hermez

We want to clarify with our followers the latest issue regarding our Twitter company account.

On Monday 1st of February 2021, our Twitter account @hermez_network was "temporarily restricted" by Twitter. To this date, we haven’t received any official communication from Twitter explaining why this restriction has happened.

This unknown restriction has stopped us from normally using our Twitter account, as it has blocked us from performing any actions, such as tweeting, sending messages, and so on.

We have filled several forms through Twitter Support, but to this day, we still don't know what caused the restriction or how to fix it. We also tried contacting Twitter Support directly on Twitter but to no avail.

As things stand right now (Monday 8th February), Hermez’s account has been ‘temporarily restricted’ by Twitter for one whole week and we still don't know why. If there are any members of the Twitter Support team reading this, the case number is # 0191789611.

On our side, we have initiated several actions to try and fix the issue (changing passwords, logging out of all sessions, revoking access to applications...). If any reader has experienced this issue or has any suggestions, please let us know.

Hermez Support Account Set Up

Until this issue is resolved, we have set up a secondary Twitter account to be able to connect with our followers, called Hermez Network Support (username: @HermezSupport).

We'll be using this account for all our official communications until our project account is back. We hope this is a temporary measure, and that Twitter Support can help us solve this issue.

The new Hermez Network Support account is https://twitter.com/HermezSupport. We’ll be updating links on all our channels and platforms in the coming days.

We want to take a moment to express our gratitude to our community for their support and understanding during this unfortunate situation. We’ll edit this blog post as soon as we have updates from Twitter Support.

Finally, may this serve as a reminder for the whole space as to why decentralised, permissionless platforms are now more important than ever.

EDITED:

We're pleased to communicate that our Twitter account has been unlocked by Twitter!

We received an email on Thursday 11th February from Twitter Support where they explain that the account was automatically restricted by mistake.

Our account is fully operational now, and we're able to connect with our followers once again, to whom we thank for their support. We also would like to thank Twitter Support for their help in solving this issue.
